The new collection has launched! I am so so happy that the fruits of lockdown have finally come into fruition!
I am delighted to present to you my fourth collection, Sero. The name is taken from Latin, meaning to ‘plant’ or ‘sow’. It seemed like the perfect fit for a collection so nature inspired, along with the fact I think there has really been development within my design and ways of working.
Having had so much time to research over the last few months it has been a real luxury to be able to sit down and trawl through books to get inspiration. I spent a lot of time looking at Joan Miro. His playful shapes have most definitely worked their way into some of the pieces. Georgia O’Keefe’s paintings of mesas were also a great source of inspiration too. Noguchi, Matisse and Jean Arp continue to be big influences too.
I experimented with a traditional technique called lost wax carving in a big way throughout this collection. I have used this process many times, but this time I was a lot more experimental, using different types of wax and experimenting with new tools to create the sculptural elements throughout the range. I have also been so thankful for the weather over the last few weeks. My beautiful model, Liat and I shot together on an early morning in leafy Hampstead Heath where the summer flowers are in full bloom. I love the summer haze and think it represents the pieces perfectly. \
For me, one positive of lockdown is I have been able to put the creative juices into action without any distraction. I hope you love the collection just as much as me.
